Reviews

AudioFile Magazine...
This well-narrated production offers a look at 50 arbitrarily chosen spiritual "classics," ranging from recent bestsellers to such bedrock documents as the TAO TE CHING. The book introduces Jung, Castaneda, Hesse, and less esteemed writers as well. Each section offers an overview and notes on its author, as well as bullet points at its conclusion. Part of the Coach In a Box series, this audiobook is valuable for novices in the world of bestselling metaphysical books. For those who have familiarity with the field, the production will in no way substitute for listening to the actual works. Tom Butler-Bowdon does a fine job, bringing effortless gravitas to the proceedings. D.J.B. (c) AudioFile 2007, Portland, Maine
